Emma and I found each other in the playground at Chandler's Ford Infant School. Drawn together by our shared northern roots and love of yoga and health food, we spent many hours together drinking fruit tea and putting the world to rights. Emma was a kind, compassionate and intelligent woman, and I loved her sense of style and beautiful smile. She was truly inspirational to me when I was doing my MA – I loved talking to her about my work, and I loved hearing about hers too. We had a little trio going on, Emma, Jo and I, and we called ourselves the 'Northern Lasses'. We had lots of plans to eat cake and watch movies together in my brand new 'She Shed' (garden office), which Emma coined our 'Northern Lasses Headquarters'... Emma I miss you so very much...
